How it works
The clean verification path
The system checks the live server itself, not a screenshot alone. That makes claims harder to abuse and easier for real owners.

Search the public directory and open the exact listing for your IP and port.

Generate token
freshwipe.gg creates a short temporary code tied to that listing and your account.
Step 3
Add it publicly
Put the token in your live server name, MOTD, or public server description.
Step 4
Verify now
We query the live server and approve the claim when the token is visible.
Step 5
Remove token
Once approved, remove the token and manage the listing from your dashboard.

Every game exposes server data a little differently. These notes keep expectations realistic.

Best option: Server name is the safest place.
Rust server names are usually visible through public server queries. MOTD, rules, or host metadata may vary by host and plugin setup, so use the public server name if you want the cleanest verification.
Wait time: Wait 2-5 minutes after changing the name, then click Verify now.
Common issue: Some directories cache old names briefly after a restart or config reload.

DayZ query-visible metadata can be limited. If a token in the description is not found, place it in the public server name temporarily.

Garry's Mod normally exposes useful query metadata, but the hostname is still the most reliable public field for claim verification.

Is claiming free?
Yes. Claiming a server is free. You do not need Plus to prove ownership or keep your listing accurate.
Do I need Plus to claim?
No. Plus adds advanced analytics, growth tools, priority support, and promotion benefits, but basic claiming and listing accuracy stay free.
Can I remove the token after verification?
Yes. Remove the token after the claim is approved. The token is only used to prove temporary live control.
Where should I put the token?
The public server name is the most reliable place. MOTD or public server description may work for some games, but not every game exposes those fields.
Why was my token not found?
The server browser may not have refreshed yet, the token may be in a private field, the query may have failed, or the server details may not match the listing IP and port.
How long should I wait after changing my server name?
Usually 2-10 minutes is enough. Some hosts or directories cache server data longer, especially after restarts or directory refreshes.
What if my game does not expose MOTD?
Use the public server name instead. If that still cannot be queried reliably, provide ownership proof for admin review.
What if the server query fails?
A single query failure does not automatically reject your claim. Try again after a short wait, confirm the server is online, then use admin ownership review if needed.
What if my server is already claimed?
Open a support ticket and request an ownership review. Admins can investigate ownership changes, sold communities, or mistaken claims.
What if my server changes IP?
Keep the listing updated from your dashboard after claiming. If the old listing can no longer be managed, open a ticket for admin help.
Can multiple staff manage one listing?
The current flow links a listing to one owner account. Team management is a sensible future upgrade, but for now use the account your community trusts to manage listings.
What proof is accepted for admin ownership review?
Useful proof includes official website evidence, Discord ownership proof, a hosting panel screenshot with sensitive details hidden, DNS or website proof, or a community page showing ownership.
What should I never send?
Never send hosting passwords, RCON passwords, billing logins, account passwords, private keys, payment details, or private credentials.
Can someone steal my server claim?
The token flow requires control of the live public server identity. If a dispute happens, admins can review evidence and audit history.
Why does freshwipe.gg require live verification?
Because knowing an IP address is not ownership. Live verification proves the person claiming can control a public field players can see.
